Greg’s Mission is a nonprofit that works to provide support, HOPE, education, current resources and awareness to patients suffering from brain tumors especially Glioblastoma Multiforme (a grade 4 primary brain tumor) via phone, email, skype and personal visits.
My name is Greg Cantwell and I am a Stage IV Glioblastoma Survivor and Caregiver. I started this website to help those going through the same diagnosis I had.
I travel throughout the country and share my cancer survivor-turned-caregiver experiences with various audiences.
The title of my presentation is:
Winning the Fight of Your Life!
by Greg Cantwell, Cancer Survivor and Caregiver
"Staying positive can be hard at times but you have to focus on what you believe your outcome will be. " I am going to kick cancer's but" Stay strong get rest when you need it and call on your friends for support. To admit that you need help is not a sign of weakness.

PRESENTATION POINTS ARE:

- Statistics vs. individual persons
- Importance of relationships with family & friends or other support persons
- Tips on how to effectively communicate with doctors and nurses
- What helped me and what didn't
- Reverse roles! Survivor to Caregiver
- Your questions and comments
Finally, and most importantly, I provide One-on-One Cancer Support to the brain cancer community. I e-mail, talk on the phone, and sometimes visit patients/caregivers (if they are within the local area, such as Iowa City or Cedar Rapids). My website has been successful at reaching this population who really need the support. I am also on Facebook under “Glioblastoma Survivor” which has had an overwhelming response as well. Additionally, I volunteer at a number of well known cancer nonprofits, such as The American Cancer Society, The National Brain Tumor Society, Childrens Cancer Foundation, Immerman Angels, etc. and receive referrals from them daily.

I NEED YOUR HELP !
I incur many expenses to provide this much needed service. I have been funding it on my own since I started one year ago, but cannot afford to do so anymore. I was not aware of how many people of all ages are being diagnosed with brain cancer every day. I believe I receive so many calls/referrals because when one searches “Glioblastoma” on the internet, there are very few survivor stories, let alone survivors who offer to share their experiences and provide free support.
I am partnering with Virtualtrials The Musella Foundation who has set up a donation page on their site and have agreed to accept any donations which I receive which would make your donations tax deductable.
